Crystal Palace are targeting wide forwards and a right wing-back in January, and could be among the Premier League’s busier clubs.
According to The Standard, Oliver Glasner wants a wide forward to deepen his options. Palace also plan to strengthen on the right and are interested in Bayern Munich’s Sacha Boey, who is expected to be available next month.
Daniel Munoz requires knee surgery and understudy Nathaniel Clyne, 34, is out of contract in the summer.
Glasner plays 3-4-2-1 with two narrow wide forwards behind Jean-Philippe Mateta. Ismaila Sarr will be away with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations next month.
Yeremy Pino has been improving since arriving from Villarreal in August. Christantus Uche is beginning to feature more, but Daichi Kamada’s hamstring injury against Manchester City on Sunday has reduced options.
Glasner has challenged the board before. After last month’s Strasbourg defeat, he said finishing must improve and that adding a forward in January was the other route.
Palace plan a six-month loan for 19-year-old academy midfielder Hindolo Mustapha after Nuremberg ended his season-long spell on Monday. Captain Marc Guehi could sign a pre-contract with an overseas club from January, but is not expected to leave before summer and becomes a free agent on July 1, when he is likely to be with England at the World Cup.
