Crystal Palace re-sign midfielder Hopcroft | OneFootball

Crystal Palace have re-signed midfielder Shanade Hopcroft on a two-year deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Eagles this afternoon.

The 28-year-old midfielder returns to Crystal Palace after spending the second half of last season with the club’s Barclays WSL2 rivals Birmingham City where she won the league title. Both clubs were automatically promoted to the Barclays Women’s Super League at the end of last season.

Hopcroft initially joined Crystal Palace in summer 2023 after leaving neighbours London City Lionesses. She went on to represent the club for two-and-a-half seasons. Hopcroft was a Barclays WSL2 title-winner with Crystal Palace in 2023/2024. The midfielder made 41 appearances for the South Londoners in her first spell with the club in which she scored seven goals. Hopcroft was very much a fans’ favourite in her initial spell with Crystal Palace.

After re-joining Crystal Palace, Hopcroft said “I’m so happy to be re-joining the club.

“I feel like I’m home, and now I can’t wait for the season to start.”

Hopcroft is Crystal Palace’s ninth signing of the summer transfer window. The player could make her second debut for the club when they play host to Everton this weekend.
