Blues bidding to record a third straight win across all competitions
Chelsea make the short trip to Selhurst Park this afternoon to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
It has been a solid start to life as Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior. Four games in charge across all competitions has yielded three wins, ten goals and two clean sheets.
The most recent victory over Pafos on Wednesday night boosted the Blues’ hopes of qualifying for the Champions League last-16 phase, though there’s a big battle to secure a top four Premier League finish.
Chelsea are without an away win in the league since November, but may fancy their chances against an out-of-sorts Palace side who have lost four of their last six games.
Life without captain Marc Guehi begins for the Eagles following the defender’s move to Manchester City, while a turbulent week has also seen head coach Oliver Glasner hold clear-the-air talks after confirming he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
To make matters worse, Jean-Philippe Mateta has rocked the boat further by informing the club he wishes to leave this month amid links to Aston Villa and Juventus.
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea is scheduled for a 2pm GMT kick-off on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
The match will take place at Selhurst Park.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on Sky Sports. Coverage starts at 12.30pm on Sky Sports Premier League ahead of kick-off at 2pm.
Live stream: Sky Sports subscribers can also catch the contest live online via the Sky Go app.
Live blog: You can follow all the action on matchday via Standard Sport’s live blog, with expert analysis from Dom Smith at the ground.
Jefferson Lerma is expected to continue in the back three for Palace, having filled in there last week against Sunderland when Guehi was waiting to finalise his move to Man City.
In a massive boost for the hosts, Ismaila Sarr is available for selection after successfully helping Senegal claim their second Africa Cup of Nations title.
He is set for an immediate recall to a front-line which may not include Mateta after his request to leave before the January transfer window closes.
Robert Sanchez is poised to return in goal for Chelsea after Filip Jorgensen suffered an injury that forced him off against Pafos in midweek.
The Blues, however, should have Cole Palmer back after he missed the Champions League win as a precaution, while Reece James’ substitution was as a result of managing his minutes rather than injury-related.
Tosin Adarabioyo is set for a period on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury in the win over Brentford.
It was confirmed this week that Dario Essugo had faced another injury setback after falling awkwardly in training, while Romeo Lavia and Levi Colwill also remain absent.

When the two sides met on the opening weekend of the season, Palace were buzzing with optimism and were well worth a point. However, much has changed since with both Guehi and Eberechi Eze departing, in addition to Glasner and Mateta wanting out.
Given all the uncertainty surrounding the club and their wrecthed form at present, Chelsea will be kicking themselves if they fail to leave south London with all three points.
Chelsea to win, 3-0.
The last three meetings have ended all square but Chelsea have not lost to Crystal Palace in any competition since October 2017. That is a run that stretches to 17 games.
