Crystal Palace forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is close to returning to Charlton Athletic. The 23-year-old is in line for a permanent move.

A deal worth in excess of £four million is expected to be finalised. As reported by The Athletic last summer, Rangers saw a loan with a potential obligation to buy worth up to £10 million rejected, with Palace seeking a fee closer to the £20 million Ipswich Town paid Chelsea for Omari Hutchinson.

Rak-Sakyi thrived on loan at Charlton in 2022-23, scoring 15 in 49 across all competitions and collecting their player of the year award.

He stayed at Palace the following season, playing only eight times after a temporary move was denied. In 2024-25 he featured 36 times for Sheffield United in the Championship, scoring seven.

He then joined Caykur Rizespor in Türkiye on loan last season, scoring four in 13, before moving to Stoke City in January and adding 16 more appearances.

Capped by England at Under-20 and Under-21 level, he has not forced his way into Palace’s plans and has one year left on the five-year deal signed in 2022. Palace are open to selling younger players with limited minutes, partly to help meet UEFA’s Squad Cost Ratio while competing in the Europa League this season.

Right wing-back Danny Imray has joined Wrexham for a fee that could rise above £five million. Centre-back Mofe Jemide has moved to Portuguese side Alverca, and David Ozoh, now 21, has interest in a permanent move.

Forward Romain Esse had been nearing a switch to Club Brugge, though that deal has not been completed. Midfielder Justin Devenny, who has played 60 times for Palace, would be allowed to leave if sufficient interest emerges.
