Barcelona will lock horns with Real Oviedo at the Carlos Tartiere Stadium on Thursday night as they look to earn a good result on the road in La Liga. The Catalan club managed to earn an impressive 3-0 win against Getafe recently, which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.

Hansi Flick will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a couple of tweaks to his first XI for this contest. Pau Cubarsi and Marc Casado could both play from the start of this game.

Defence

Joan Garcia will be a nailed-on starter in goal for Barcelona after keeping a clean sheet in his last outing. Pau Cubarsi will function alongside Eric Garcia at the centre of Flick’s defence as they look to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.

Jules Kounde will fill in as the right-back, while Gerard Martin looks to prove his worth on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent’s half.

Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen will be named on the bench as they provide cover for the centre-back positions.

Midfield

Frenkie de Jong, Pedri and Marc Casado will make up Barcelona’s midfield. Their main focus would be to dominate possession at the centre of the park and engineer some clear-cut chances in the final third.

Dani Olmo will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Raphinha would get a chance to shine as the left-winger, while Ferran Torres looks to catch the eye on the right flank. Both of them will switch their positions and try to get in behind the opponent’s backline at every chance they get.

Robert Lewandowski will lead the charge for the Catalan club in the final third. The Polish forward would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet this Thursday night.

Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the game if required.
