Cuca praised Benjamín Rollheiser after Santos drew 1-1 with San Lorenzo in Buenos Aires in the Copa Sudamericana, the Argentine starting for the second game in a row and directly involved in the goal.

According to Diario Do Peixe, Rollheiser began the equaliser by releasing Neymar, took the return pass, then squared for Gabriel Barbosa to score.

The display came just days after the No 32 struck both goals in the away draw with Bahia in the Brasileirão.

Post-match, Cuca said the midfielder still felt the effects of the previous outing and was withdrawn in the second half with cramps, but he stressed how effectively Rollheiser linked play while on the pitch.

He also underlined the player’s organisation and reading of the game, noting an early moment when Santos squandered a simple pass that would have sent Gabigol through on goal.
