Cueva insulted the match officials on social media after Flamengo beat Cusco 2-0 away in their Libertadores opener on Wednesday, according to Coluna Do Fla.
He posted an expletive-laden Instagram Story alongside a photo of the officiating team. The match was played at the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega Stadium in Cusco, Peru, at 3,350 metres.
First, the referee did not show a card to Gonzalo Plata after a stamp on a Cusco player, and VAR did not call the referee to consider a possible red. Later, the hosts had a goal disallowed for offside after the lines were drawn.
Cueva took issue with those decisions and targeted the officials after full time. He does not play for the Peruvian side and is currently with Juan Pablo II College in Peru.
Flamengo now face Fluminense at the Maracanã on Saturday 11 in the 11th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, kick-off 18:30 Brasília time, live on Premiere pay-per-view.
