Vasco came from behind to beat Fluminense 3-2 at the Maracanã, with full-back Cuiabano, forward Spinelli and coach Renato Gaúcho central to the turnaround.

According to Globo.com, Cuiabano and Spinelli were the pick of the players, and Renato’s half-time changes shifted the contest as Vasco grew in control.

Fluminense struck after 50 seconds when Hugo Moura’s errant header on the edge of his area gifted Canobbio the opener. Léo Jardim was not at fault and saved well from Martinelli and John Kennedy.

Paulo Henrique endured a difficult first half and was replaced at the break, with Puma Rodríguez adding attacking thrust while leaving space behind. Hugo Moura also made way as Johan Rojas injected creativity in midfield.

Nuno Moreira pulled one back with a strike after a corner broke his way. Late on, Cuiabano’s precise cross found Spinelli to equalise, before Rojas teed up Thiago Mendes for the stoppage-time winner.
