Corinthians stepped up preparations at CT Joaquim Grava on Friday for Sunday’s 13th round meeting with Vasco da Gama, with André Luiz back involved. According to Meu Timao, Fernando Diniz’s side focused on tactical detail throughout the morning.
Players first watched a tactical video, then completed strength work in the gym and a warm-up with coordination drills and jumps. On the pitch they worked on two against two transition duels before Diniz led a small-sided tactical session, 10 against 10, to trial a probable line-up.
The midfielder had missed the Copa do Brasil win over Barra due to flu. Having served a suspension after a recent red card, he should be included in the squad for Itaquera.
There are still notable absences. Centre-back João Pedro Tchoca is being treated for pubic pain, Charles is recovering from a right heel injury and Hugo Farias is out after surgery on the lateral meniscus of his right knee. Memphis Depay and Gui Negão continue separate work at the training ground, with the young forward already in physical transition.
Corinthians arrive under pressure, winless in nine Brasileiro matches, a run not seen since 2024. They sit 17th with 12 points.
The squad complete their build-up on Saturday morning at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. The Vasco match kicks off at 16:00 on Sunday at Neo Química Arena in Itaquera.
