Daïna Bourma to face former club Lyon with Servette in Champions League | OneFootball

Daïna Bourma will reunite with Lyon and close friend Selma Bacha when Servette host them in the Women’s Champions League on Wednesday at 18:45 in Switzerland.

According to L'Équipe, Bourma said they sent each other a photo in Lyon colours, adding that they grew up together, their fathers are close friends, and they used to trade playful jibes over games like Fortnite and Call of Duty.

The Lyon left-back Bacha, 25, capped 54 times by France, called Bourma her sister and said it is pleasant to meet again, but on the pitch they will not spare each other. She added they have not discussed the match or their teams, and that any teasing will stay on the field.

Bourma, who joined OL around age nine or 10 and is now 26, said she cannot wait to face one of the favourites and to show Servette’s progress. She described the project as really good and, given Geneva’s proximity to Lyon, said it feels the perfect place for her since arriving in 2021.

At Servette she debuted in Europe in 2021-2022, losing all 6 group games without scoring, against Juventus (0-3, 0-4), Wolfsburg (0-5, 0-3) and Chelsea (0-7, 0-1). She said they were thrilled just to participate then, but now feel more legitimate after five years of work, are ready, and the competition uses a single 18-team ranking. After Lyon, Servette face Köge, Louvain, AS Roma, FC Barcelona and Paris FC.
