Selma Bacha set for Servette reunion with long-time Lyon team-mate Daïna Bourma | OneFootball

Selma Bacha will face close friend Daïna Bourma when OL Lyonnes resume their Champions League campaign against Servette on Wednesday.

According to Le Progres, the Lyon-born pair came through Olympique Lyonnais together from 2009 to 2017, both playing at left-back, and are now 25 and 26.

Bacha regards Bourma as a sister, yet stressed they will be opponents on the pitch and that there will be no favours.

Their paths then diverged, with Bourma moving via Montpellier before launching her professional career at Glasgow Rangers from 2019 to 2021. Since returning from Scotland, the former France U16, U17 and U19 international has been with Servette de Genève, starting her sixth season.

Bacha said they have not swapped notes before the tie, adding the coaching staff have analysed Servette and it is on the players to do the job.

The vice-captain said she feels comfortable in Jonatan Giráldez’s new set-up, with OL Lyonnes more attack minded and well connected. For now it is working, she added, while noting it is only the start of the season.
