Daley Blind returns to Ajax for a third spell | OneFootball

Ajax have announced that Daley Blind is returning to the club once again for the 2026/27 season.

The defender, whose contract with Girona came to an end has signed a deal until 2027 and will begin his third spell at the club where he cam through the academy.

Blind made his senior debut for Ajax in 2008/09 and stayed in Amsterdam until 2014 when he moved to Manchester United. The versatile player spent four seasons with the Red Devils before returning to Ajax, where he remained for four and a half more years.

In 2022/23, he finished the season at Bayern München, for whom he made five appearances, before joining Girona. Over the past three years he represented the Catalan side, but could not prevent their relegation in the recently completed campaign.

With 226 Eredivisie appearances for Ajax, Blind is the second player in the current squad with the most matches in the Dutch top flight, behind only Davy Klaassen, who has 281.
