Dani Gómez has joined FC Tokyo as a free agent to fill the gap left by Sato’s departure.
According to Superdeporte, Sato’s exit brought 4 million into the club and the Tokyo side, which seldom spends on transfer fees, paid 1.5 million for Danish player Vallys from Brondby. That plan was derailed when Vallys suffered a cruciate ligament injury.
In response, FC Tokyo returned to the free agent market and chose the former Valencia CF and Levante UD striker. The 28-year-old left Real Zaragoza after a season that ended in relegation to 1ª RFEF.
Gómez arrives with a market value of 800,000 euros and will wear the number 99.
He set out a shared aim to become champions and accepted the road will be long, promising they will fight with all their strength.
He believes that building a strong mentality and adding small efforts will, without doubt, take them to their goal, and he is eager to meet FC Tokyo supporters at the stadium.
