Leicester City have signed free agent goalkeeper Dai Cornell on a one-year deal.

He said: “I'm delighted to sign and excited to be here. It’s a fantastic football club with a fantastic manager. I’m looking forward to getting started and helping in any way I can. Hopefully, together, as players, staff and fans, we can achieve what we want to achieve this season.”

The 35-year-old left Preston North End earlier this summer after four years at Deepdale.

He becomes the third goalkeeper signed by City boss Russell Martin, after Alex McCarthy and Franco Ravizzoli.

The move follows Jakub Stolarczyk sustaining a serious knee injury that will rule him out for the rest of the season.
