Dani Martín used his Roig Arena concert to call for Peter Lim to give up control of Valencia, a message that drew loud approval from home supporters. The club has been under Lim’s control since October 2014.
According to Superdeporte, the Atlético Madrid supporter told the crowd he wanted Lim to go, remarks delivered between songs and met with fervent applause.
He went on to say Lim had attended only once to watch the team, again asking him to leave. Martín then stressed his affection for Valencia and friends at the club, describing it as a great club.
Supporters responded with familiar chants, including the traditional minute 19 Mestalla refrain urging Peter to go, while others voiced hopes of staying in the top flight.
Martín joked they should stop or it would be the only thing their trusted newspapers reported. He signed off by leading the club’s rallying cry, Amunt Valencia, at the end of a show that filled the Roig Arena.
