There is a lot of movement in the transfer market for FC Barcelona, but it is more focused on departures rather than arrivals. Moreover, beyond just the first team, these operations also involve the club’s reserve side, Barça Atlètic.
One of the players at the centre of attention is Dani Rodriguez, whose future could be resolved before the transfer window closes. In recent days, talks have intensified regarding a potential loan move away from the Catalan reserve side until the end of the season.
According to SPORT, Dani Rodriguez is in advanced negotiations with Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb over a temporary move. Discussions between the two parties have been ongoing for several days, and while no final agreement has been reached yet, the player is understood to view the option positively.
A key factor behind the interest is Dinamo Zagreb’s participation in the Europa League, which would provide the winger with exposure at a higher competitive level.
The 20-year-old Basque attacker has been one of Juliano Belletti’s most important players this season. He has featured in 17 of Barça Atlètic’s 19 matches so far, contributing three goals and five assists.
His consistent performances have reinforced the feeling that the Primera Federación is beginning to fall short of his current level, a perception shared by both the player and those around him.
This is not the first time Rodriguez has attracted interest. In the past, he received loan proposals from clubs such as Valencia CF but opted to remain at Barcelona to continue his development.
However, the current scenario appears different. With several proposals on the table, the Dinamo Zagreb option stands out as one of the most convincing due to the Croatian club’s strong track record in developing young talent and offering them continuity.
Despite the possibility of a departure, Barcelona’s faith in the player remains intact. Dani Rodriguez was recently called up to the first team squad to travel to Prague, underlining the club’s belief in his progression.
Hansi Flick has already given him first-team minutes in La Liga, where his promising appearance was cut short by a serious shoulder dislocation that required surgery and kept him sidelined for several months.
From a sporting perspective, competition also plays a role in the decision. Dani’s natural position is on the right wing, an area currently stacked with talent in the first team, including Lamine Yamal and Roony Bardghji, whose arrival further limits immediate opportunities for the academy product at the senior level.
The proposed deal with Dinamo Zagreb is being structured as a loan until the end of the season with an option to buy. This formula would allow the player to continue his development in a demanding environment while maintaining his contractual link with Barcelona.
Ultimately, the final decision rests with Dani Rodriguez himself. While he remains a key figure for Belletti’s Barça Atlètic, all signs suggest that a loan move abroad is increasingly likely as he looks to take the next step in his career.
