Daniel Farke has underlined Leeds United’s need to operate sustainably and said any late additions must make financial sense. Speaking on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s League Cup tie at Nottingham Forest, he declined to be drawn on links to Mykhailo Mudryk.

According to Leeds Live, Leeds have held talks with Chelsea over a loan for Mudryk, although progress appears to have stalled. The club want a left-sided attacker before next week’s deadline and also a back-up striker, left-back and goalkeeper.

United are hopeful of landing Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Michael Zetterer, while little seems to have moved on the other fronts. Farke said there is a lot of noise around Leeds and that agents often use the club’s name, adding he will not comment on players at other teams or engage in speculation.
