Despite Jayden Bogle’s opener and numerous chances to take all three points, Leeds United were forced to settle for a draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The result on the south coast sees the Whites extend their unbeaten start to the new season, putting in a solid display at a venue that hasn’t been the happiest of hunting grounds in recent years.

Speaking afterwards, manager Daniel Farke felt his team had the opportunities to put the clash to bed but was pleased with the defensive performance as the hosts rallied late on.

“That is a really good point for us, given our recent record here,” the boss explained in his media duties at the Amex Stadium.

“It is ages ago since we took something last time here from a long travel to Brighton and even longer ago when we scored the last time a goal here.

“So, for that, a point is definitely a good result but more was even possible, I would say. At half time, we should have been out of sight normally and the second half was a similar topic.

“Normally, in such a difficult away game, once you miss so many clear-cut chances, you have to travel away without any points because Brighton is a really good side, and of course they would have periods in the second half where they put pressure on us.

“If you don’t bury the game, then Brighton has enough quality also then to come back and to score also a goal. That is what they did.

“I love that my players dug in. We had even a chance to win it but overall it doesn’t take anything away that it is a good point away at Brighton.

“I am happy that the first time since many years, we travel back and gave our supporters something to cheer about.”
