Daniel Farke has issued an injury update ahead of this week's Carabao Cup third round meeting with Chelsea, with Joe Rodon still sidelined and £25m Dan James a doubt.

According to Leedsunited.news, Gabi Gudmundsson may have had a reaction following his return from injury, while Ilia Gruev is continuing his rehabilitation towards full fitness.

Farke said James reported a back and hamstring issue during the warm-up against Brighton, though scans were clear. The winger is fine, trained individually yesterday, and there are two sessions to come, one this afternoon and a light one tomorrow morning. He remains a doubt, with Farke carefully optimistic, as he is with the others.

Rodon, the Wales international, is a long-term absentee and is set to be missing until November.

Last season, after a momentum-shifting second half at Man City, Farke then saw Leeds beat Chelsea 3-1 at Elland Road.

This will be his 10th meeting with Chelsea, with a second career win the aim and a seventh defeat to avoid. If the tie is level after normal time it will go straight to penalties.
