Shelbourne FC is very pleased to announce that fan-favourite Daniel Kelly has signed a new contract with the club. The Ringsend native has been in stellar form this season and he has now committed his future to Shels.

Speaking to ShelsTV on the news Dan said: “I am delighted to sign a new contract with Shels. I’ve loved my time here since joining and I can’t wait to continue with the club going forward. Physically I’m feeling good and I want to keep pushing myself mentally as well so that I can continue to improve and to help this team. We have a great squad and great staff at the club, and I am hopeful that we can achieve some big things together in the near future.”

Remarking on what Kelly brings to the table, Head Coach John Russell said: “It’s fantastic news that Dan has committed his future to Shelbourne FC. He has excellent technical ability, pace, directness and a real keen eye for goal. Since coming into the club, I’ve seen first-hand the quality that Dan possesses and the standards that he sets in training every day.” With 7 league goals and 2 assists alongside his historic goal at the Johan Cruyff Arena this season, Russell was eager to emphasise the attacking side of Kelly’s game. “We want to build a team that plays with intent; a team that attacks and gives our supporters something to get excited about. Dan fits that vision perfectly. I am so pleased that he is staying with us; and I am looking forward to seeing him make a big contribution to what we’re aiming to achieve here at Shels.”
