Danilo e Leonardo Jardim disagree on Flamengo’s Brasileirão issues

Flamengo’s stuttering restart has drawn contrasting views from Leonardo Jardim and Danilo after back-to-back league draws. According to Coluna Do Fla, Jardim highlighted how absences during the mid-season break affected the team, while Danilo urged the squad to move beyond that line of reasoning.

Jardim said 10 players were unavailable in the interseason and that the side performed to a certain level up to the Coritiba game. He noted two distinct training groups, with returning players arriving late from different methods, and added there was little time to work because of three matches in 10 days. He said the coming spell must be used to readjust so actions are better interpreted and the early-season level returns.

Danilo accepted the coach’s analysis but stressed the need for players to quickly reconnect with Flamengo’s ideas. He called for a positive outlook, said decisions are coming fast, and insisted the team should end any justification by showing again what it produced in the first half of the season.

The Brasileirão resumes on the second weekend of August, with Copa do Brasil knockout ties before then. Flamengo will have 11 days working together with a full squad in this period.

Flamengo’s next assignment is against Vitória on the ninth at the Maracanã.

The report also included a view challenging Jardim’s stance on readaptation after national-team duty, arguing long-serving players would not lose the club’s methods over roughly two months at the World Cup.
