Danjuma accepts Valencia season fell short and targets response next year

Arnaut Danjuma has admitted Valencia’s campaign fell below expectations and signalled his intent to respond next season. The former Villarreal forward said in a social media post that the team had not been at the required level. He framed his comments collectively rather than individually.

The Dutchman started brightly but faded. His last Liga goal for Valencia came on 30 September, and from February to the season’s end he started only once in the league. Corberán gave him several chances, yet the coach from Cheste eventually lost faith.

Danjuma thanked supporters for their backing in his first year, said he now understands how special the club is, and conceded the season was beneath what they deserve. He promised to work harder and give more in order to take Valencia to the place he believes it merits next season.

He is seeking a second chance and hopes to reassert himself next term. Danjuma is under contract until 2028, though his output has left doubts and his future appears uncertain.

Across the campaign he made 30 Liga appearances, 18 as a starter. He scored four goals in all competitions, three in Liga and one in Copa. Decisions on his future are set to be discussed by Corberán and Ron Gourlay during sporting planning meetings.
