Current holders of the trophy, City secured a place in the last-16 with a 5-0 victory over Norwich City at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday night.

A debut double from Floyd Samba, along with goals from Rayan Cherki, another from fellow debutant Allan and a late strike from Academy Graduate Ryan McAidoo secured an emphatic win.

City were paired with Brighton when the draw was made the previous evening shortly after the Seagulls had won 3-2 at Old Trafford against Manchester United in their own third round tie.

The date and kick-off time for the fourth round game at the Etihad have now been confirmed and the match will also be available to watch live in the UK on Sky Sports.

It will be the first of two games against Brighton in the space of four days with the two sides meeting again at the Etihad in the Premier League on Saturday 31 October.

Ticket information for the Carabao Cup tie with Brighton will be released in due course.
