Jadon Sancho is still likely to part ways with Manchester United before the end of the summer transfer window, reports The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

In the past few days, Sancho has been heavily linked to Juventus and Chelsea, with his time at Old Trafford looking like it has come to an end.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United could do a swap deal with Chelsea that would see Sancho seal a switch to Stamford Bridge and Raheem Sterling join Erik ten Hag’s ranks.

Sterling is thought to be open to the move but must first resolve his contractual situation with the Blues.

Meanwhile, it was stated that Juventus were keen on taking Sancho on loan with an option to buy at the end of the 2024/25 season. United’s preference would be to permanently part ways with the England international or let him go on loan but with an obligation to purchase.

Ornstein has now given an update and indicated that Sancho’s exit before the window shuts is very much a possibility.

The Athletic journalist wrote, “Jadon Sancho is likely to leave Manchester United permanently or on loan before the transfer window closes — and the club are in talks with Juventus and Chelsea about a deal for the 24-year-old winger.”

“The Juventus interest dates back to the January market, while Chelsea’s pursuit is more recent but equally credible as an option in the coming days.”

“For Chelsea to proceed with a switch it would probably require a player to go the opposite way and at present Raheem Sterling is viewed as the most feasible of the candidates discussed.”

Ornstein notes that United will only sign Sterling if the prospect of having him makes “financial and footballing sense to them.”

Sancho has been left out of United’s matchday squads for the opening two games of the season so far. The forward travelled with his teammates to the Amex on Saturday to face Brighton and Hove Albion, but he could only watch as they suffered a 2-1 defeat.

The 24-year-old repaired his relationship with Ten Hag having fallen out last season but it seems that the Dutchman still doesn’t have much use for him.
