David Storch has issued a message to Louie Barry after he was taken off with an injury in Sheffield Wednesday’s 2-1 win against Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night.

The Owls went behind in just the sixth minute after Cauley Woodrow’s goal put the hosts ahead, but Barry equalised just a few moments later.

Jamal Lowe’s penalty late in the first half proved enough to separate the two sides, with Henrik Pedersen’s side winning their third of four league games this season.

The Yorkshire outfit have made a positive start to life in League One, as they look to fight for promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt.

However, the former Aston Villa’s injury has put a dampener on the result, as he came off after just 15 minutes.

The 23-year-old has cemented himself as a key part of the first team in these opening weeks of the campaign, having joined from Villa in the summer.

Storch celebrated Sheffield Wednesday’s win with a post on his personal X account, with the new owner enjoying their positive start to the new campaign.

However, he also sent his best wishes to Barry following his injury early in the first half, with the player being forced off just moments after finding the back of the net.

Barry has made a big impact at Sheffield Wednesday already, contributing three goals and one assist from four appearances in League One this season.

He scored a brace in the team’s 7-2 win against Bromley last weekend, while also providing an assist, in an emphatic win for Pedersen’s side.

It remains unclear for how long Barry could be out of action for, with the attacker going off after just 15 minutes against Wycombe.

Injuries have hurt Barry’s career in recent years, so he will be hoping that it isn’t anything serious that could be a setback to his Sheffield Wednesday stint.

He joined the club from Aston Villa in the early stages of the summer market, signing a deal until June 2030.

Barry was one of 17 additions at Sheffield Wednesday during the transfer window, with the club overhauling their first team squad following the completion of Arise Capital’s takeover.
