Strasbourg have reportedly appointed Fabio Martins as the new head of the club’s medical department following the club’s recent reshuffle of its medical structure. It marks the first significant move from new sporting director David Weir, who recently joined BlueCo after a spell at Brighton & Hove Albion.
According to L’Équipe, Martins leaves his role as head physiotherapist at AS Monaco to take on a broader and more senior position at the RCSA. His arrival is part of the department’s overhaul initiated by new sporting director Weir, who has reportedly been tasked with modernising the club’s performance and medical setup.
Martins will reunite with Pascal De Maesschalk, Strasbourg’s technical director, with whom he worked during his time in Monaco’s youth development structure. He also joins a staff that already includes another Portuguese figure: Rosenior’s assistant coach Philippe Coelho.GFFN | George Boxall
