Birmingham City manager Chris Davies has confirmed that Kanya Fujimoto missed the Carabao Cup win over Swansea through injury.

The midfielder suffered a knock during the build-up to the game.

“He picked up a knock, sadly, because he’s had such an encouraging pre-season but I think that’s going to be weeks not months,” Davies said.

Reflecting on his side’s 1-0 win thanks to August Priske’s goal, Davies said: “No team in the Championship is going to come here and have more possession than Swansea, I’m confident to say that, so I wasn’t aiming to do that, I just wanted to make sure that we put them under pressure from our pressing game and our set pieces.

“I said to the players before the game that it’s not about being perfect today, it’s about having the right attitude, and I thought we saw that.”
