Davies provides fresh injury update on Birmingham City trio | OneFootball

Birmingham City boss Chris Davies has confirmed Demarai Gray will miss Saturday’s trip to Derby County because of illness.

Gray was left feeling unwell following a collision in last weekend’s draw with Wolves and subsequently missed the 2-1 defeat at Norwich.

But Davies revealed his latest absence is because of a separate medical issue, with Birmingham hopeful the winger could return against Middlesbrough.

“Demarai is unavailable with illness, so he’s still going to be, hopefully, building up to playing some part against Middlesbrough,” Davies said.

“It doesn’t relate to that [Wolves], it’s kind of a medical issue that’s sort of developed and he’s had to be dealing with that.”

Jhon Solis and Patrick Roberts are also doubts for the clash with Derby but have not been completely ruled out.

“Both of those are still a little bit touch and go,” Davies added. “We’re training this afternoon actually, so they’re not 100 per cent confirmed, but they’re doing good.”
