Turki Alalshikh ‘sounded out’ for Leicester City takeover after Derby County collapse | OneFootball

Turki Alalshikh has reportedly been sounded out over a potential Leicester City takeover, weeks after abandoning a bid for Derby County.

Owner King Power are exploring a sale with CitiGroup, and reports suggest a 14 September deadline for initial offers.

Alalshikh was close to buying Derby in August, then withdrew an hour before a planned announcement after EFL and IFR approval, apologising on social media.

Scottish-Indian businessman Neil Lal, fronting the Bharat Consortium Group with heavy backing from India, believes the £200m price is excessive. "In my view, the club is overvalued. Leicester is valued as a successful Championship club, and yet it's in League One. So, for me, the valuation is over the top." He told talkSPORT.

"If we're going to progress further, and Leicester is falling down, it doesn't bode well. If, God forbid, Leicester ever drops down to League Two, financially, it's Armageddon."
