Day four of pre-season: Corinthians work on drills and fitness

This Tuesday (6th), Corinthians held its fourth day of pre-season at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava, aiming for the debut in the Campeonato Paulista. Next Sunday (11th), at 4 pm (Brasília time), the Alvinegro will host Ponte Preta at the Neo Química Arena. In 2026, the Alvinegro will compete in: Supercopa do Brasil, Paulistão, Campeonato Brasileiro, Copa do Brasil, and Conmebol Libertadores.

The Corinthians squad started the training day with a gym activation and a warm-up on the field. Subsequently, the athletes conducted an attack versus defense exercise with ball exit from the goal kick, as a way to improve the team's playmaking.

Additionally, the Corinthians technical staff organized a ten versus ten collective activity. The activity, at a certain point, was open to the press. Central do Timão was present and observed that the team with bibs was composed of: Felipe Longo, Félix Torres, Gustavo Henrique, Cacá, and Matheus Bidon; Ryan, André Breno Bidon, and Garro, Kayke, and Pedro Raul.

Meanwhile, the team without bibs included: Hugo Souza, Matheuzinho, João Pedro Tchoca, André Ramalho, and Hugo Farias; Charles, André Carrillo, Lucca Caramico, Vitinho, Dieguinho, and Gui Negão. Finally, there was a physical complement on the field.

In an interview with Corinthians TV, right-back Matheuzinho projected the Corinthians team's debut in 2026, next Sunday (11th), and recalled the victory in the last edition of the Campeonato Paulista, against Palmeiras, in March of last year.

“Last year we won this championship, but now we turn the page and keep our feet on the ground. It's a new competition with new teams. We know it will be very difficult. We are excited for our debut on Sunday (11th) at the Neo Química Arena. It will be a tough game. Surely they (Ponte Preta) have a bit more preparation time than us, but we will prepare in the best way possible to do our best,” he commented.
