Dayann Methalie suspended for Toulouse as Thomas Jorgensen ready to face OL | OneFootball

Dayann Methalie will miss Toulouse’s match against Lyon on Saturday at 20:45 through suspension, with his transfer situation still unresolved. New arrival Thomas Jorgensen is available just days after joining.

According to L'Équipe, Methalie recently returned to Toulouse after medical complications arose during his move to Sunderland. The 20-year-old left-back, who missed the last three friendlies with a back issue, serves a ban for last season’s yellow-card accumulation, as does Alexis Vossah.

Head coach Jens Berthel Askou considers Methalie unavailable despite him having trained, and the player was allowed to delay rejoining the group upon his return.

The suspension also lets Toulouse continue to manage the defender cautiously while clarity is sought on his complex situation. The club still hope to secure a sale worth around €30m including bonuses.

Askou still has a few selection questions but can already count on Jorgensen, who arrived this week from Viborg. The 20-year-old creative midfielder completed a full pre-season and has already started the Danish league, giving him four matches under his belt. He could play alongside Cristian Casseres or in a more advanced role.
