According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Fiorentina are expected to activate a clause to extend David De Gea’s contract until 2026, allowing the ex-Manchester United star to double his wages.
Spanish keeper De Gea has taken Serie A by storm and is currently one of the best-performing goalkeepers in the league.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport on Monday, Fiorentina will activate a clause to extend the Spaniard’s contract by one year.

De Gea had signed a one-year deal at the Stadio Franchi last summer, but Fiorentina can extend his stay with a ‘unilateral’ clause.
De Gea’s extension until 2026 will see the Spaniard double his wages to €2.4m per season.
The 34-year-old saved two penalty kicks in one game against Milan last month and even provided an assist for Moise Kean in the latest Serie A match before the November break.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, De Gea has avoided 1,8 goals per game; only Torino’s Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, Udinese’s Maduka Okoye and Zion Suzuki of Parma have more.
De Gea has also saved 80,6% of shots on target, more than Yann Sommer (Inter) and Mike Maignan (Milan).
