Hakon Arnar Haraldsson settled it in the 47th minute with a close-range finish, as Lille won 2-1 at Rennes.
After a rapid break, he timed his run into the six-yard area and swept low into the bottom left from Matías Fernández's pass (47.).
He remained a threat after the restart, clipping a cross that Nathan Ngoy headed goalwards before it was blocked (77.).
The Iceland international then drove from distance and missed narrowly from more than 35 yards (80.). He was withdrawn late on (89.).
He finished with two attempts, one on target, two key passes, two accurate crosses and eight recoveries, underlining how he linked transitions and helped Lille control the key phases.
Lille climb from seventh to fifth in Ligue 1. They visit Marseille next. Rennes host Metz next.
