Amine Gouiri struck in the third minute to set Marseille on course for a 3-1 victory over Lens at the Vélodrome.

The forward opened the scoring with a crisp right-footed finish into the roof of the net after finding space in the centre of the box from Igor Paixão's pass. It set the tone, with Les Olympiens playing through him early.

He stayed busy, drawing a low save from Robin Risser with a drive from outside the area (12.). Later, a sharp run to the right channel produced a blocked effort after combining with Mason Greenwood (69.).

Gouiri's decisive second arrived from close range, sweeping a low finish into the bottom left after timing his movement to meet Timothy Weah's delivery (75.). That settled the contest and capped a complete centre-forward display.

He finished with four attempts, three on target, plus five touches in the box. Composed in possession, he also completed all 15 of his passes and produced seven successful final third distributions, underlining how Les Phocéens built attacks through him.

Les Phocéens visit Club Brugge in the Champions League next. Lens host Le Havre next in Ligue 1.
