Jimmy Dunne settled the game in the 74th minute with a towering header from a corner, as Queens Park Rangers beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1.

The centre-back attacked Tariq Lamptey's outswinging delivery, climbed above his marker and guided his header into the roof of the net (74.).

From there, Dunne marshalled the back line, reading crosses and clearing danger as Blackburn pushed. His positioning cut out low centres and he won important aerial duels to protect the lead.

He finished with seven clearances, four interceptions and three aerials won, a data line that underlined both his threat from dead balls and his control of the penalty area.

Because Queens Park Rangers loaded the set piece to free the central lane, Dunne could attack the cross at pace, and his dominance in the air kept Blackburn's late pressure at arm's length.

Queens Park Rangers sit fourth on seven points after three games and host Cardiff City next. Blackburn Rovers are 10th and visit Lincoln City next.
