These nine players will miss out as two unbeaten sides through the opening couple of games clash at Ewood Park
Blackburn Rovers, who won just four home league games all last season, will be looking to make it two from two at Ewood Park this Saturday when they welcome fellow strong-starters QPR.
Granted, it's been two games, but Blackburn and QPR have been two of the surprise quick-out-of-the-blocks starters in the Championship this season, with both picking up four points.
Only a 93rd-minute Raul Jimenez penalty stopped Tony Mowbray's side from collecting maximum points against two promotion favourites in Wolves and Middlesbrough, while the Hoops have been electric going forward and were massively unlucky not to make it back-to-back wins against Bolton Wanderers last weekend.
It'll be an intriguing matchup at Ewood Park between two sides with a little more optimism than they had a fortnight ago, but these nine players won't be playing a part.

Yuki Ohashi was added to an already lengthy injury list at Blackburn during their EFL Cup exit against Sheffield United on Tuesday, after limping off after 11 minutes. It's a bit of a blow, given he scored 10 times for a side who struggled in front of goal last season.
Tony Mowbray said that Rovers will be without the 30-year-old for a few weeks as he recovers from that hamstring issue.

Mathias Jorgensen only just returned from a knock he picked up during pre-season in Portugal last weekend against Middlesbrough, but his comeback will be short-lived, as Tony Mowbray revealed he tweaked his hamstring against Kim Hellberg's side.
That leaves Andri Gudjohnsen, who has two in two league games to begin the campaign, as Blackburn's only natural striker option, something which isn't forcing the Rovers boss to dip into the transfer market between now and next Tuesday.

The positive from the injury news at Ewood Park is that the majority of Mowbray's absentees are short-term, with the Blackburn head coach believing that his side will be stronger in a week or two.
The first of those short-term injuries sees Scott Wharton out after he injured his thigh during pre-season.
The 28-year-old has battled significant injury issues throughout his career at Ewood Park, including a knee injury which saw him miss the entire 2024/25 campaign. He'll be hoping this thigh problem is the only one he faces this season.

Moussa Baradji continues to miss time with the hamstring injury he suffered in a pre-season friendly against Blackpool.
The 25-year-old made his loan move from Swiss outfit Yverdon Sport permanent in the summer, but will have to wait a little while longer until he can make his official debut for Blackburn.

It's been a difficult 18 months for Augustus Kargbo since he arrived at Ewood Park from Italian outfit Cesena, with various injury issues restricting him to just 20 appearances. Indeed, he hasn't played for Blackburn since October last year.
He missed the final three pre-season games, and with Tony Mowbray stating he was out for Tuesday's cup defeat against Sheffield United, it'll be unlikely that he'll return this weekend.

Lewis Miller is the only long-term absentee in the Blackburn camp, with the Australian still on the mend after rupturing his Achilles in February.
If the nine-month recovery timeline is met, the 26-year-old should be set to return around November.

More a doubt than a confirmed absence, Sidnei Tavares' game time has been limited thus far this season, amid reports linking him with a move away from Ewood Park.
Mowbray admitted that the 24-year-old was set for his first start of the season in midweek against Sheffield United, but reported illness on Monday and therefore missed the game. It's unknown whether that will still be the case for Saturday.

QPR boss Julien Stephan was able to hand out debuts from the bench to full-back duo Tariq Lamptey and Denis Cirkin on Saturday against Bolton, which is a positive, especially given that fellow new arrival Boy Kemper is set for a month on the sidelines.
The Dutchman suffered an ankle injury on his league debut a fortnight ago against Portsmouth, and R's boss Julien Stephan stated during the week that he isn't expected to return to training until the September international break.
