Oliver McBurnie changed the game in the 45th minute with an assist, then struck after the restart, as Hull City won 3-0 at Preston North End.
He supplied the pass for Hull's second goal (45.), giving the visitors control approaching the interval.
After the restart, he finished Yu Hirakawa's pass to push Hull further clear (49.).
He kept asking questions, drawing a save with another break through the middle (65.). Later, he fired off target as Hull continued to threaten (72.).
One goal and one assist across either side of half time underlined his influence on a night when Hull's forward play proved decisive.
Hull rise from fifth to fourth in the Championship and host Swansea next. Preston visit Middlesbrough next.
