Jay Stansfield settled the game in the 67th minute with a composed finish, as Birmingham City beat Leicester City 2-1. His strike proved the difference in a tight second half.
He had threatened before the break, finding space for two efforts that were blocked and dragged wide, keeping the Foxes back line on alert.
After the restart he timed his run to meet Marvin Ducksch's pass and slid in the decider (67.), the kind of penalty area movement Birmingham built their attacks around.
He finished with four attempts, nine touches in the box and two key passes, underlining a sharp, all round attacking display.
With steady supply from the left and constant support runners, his near post darts repeatedly unbalanced Foxes defenders and kept Birmingham in control of the key phases.
Birmingham rise from 13th to 10th and host West Bromwich Albion next. The Foxes drop from 20th to 21st and welcome Southampton next.
