This summer is once again set to be a busy one for the FC Barcelona Sporting Department. Having already completed the signing of the winger Anthony Gordon, they are expected to make some more moves for new additions, particularly that of the Argentine forward Julian Alvarez.
Meanwhile, they are also set to complete some exit operations, with players like Marc Casado and Marc-Andre ter Stegen marked for a departure, to lighten their wage bill and make room for new additions.
In such a context, it would have been difficult to imagine the sporting director being away from the club for any significant period of time. However, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo, the Portuguese official is set to travel to North America, where he will watch several World Cup matches live.
Deco would particularly watch matches in which players of interest to the Blaugrana club are expected to feature. These may include the fullback Joao Cancelo and the forward Julian Alvarez. Meanwhile, there can be other players who may impress the Barcelona official with their performances.
Furthermore, the sporting director would also be keeping a special eye on the Spanish national team, who are set to face Portugal in their next match in the Round of 16. This would be a particularly difficult tie for Deco, as he himself has been a part of the Portuguese national team for quite a long time and would definitely be supporting his country, but there are also up to 8 Barcelona players in the Spanish squad.
Similarly, the French national team, with Jules Kounde, the Brazilian national team, with Raphinha, and the English national team, with Anthony Gordon, would also attract interest of the sporting official in particular.
Meanwhile, he would also get to meet some important people from the world of football. Hopefully, Deco’s visit would turn out to be fruitful for Barcelona, and he would gain the desired outcomes from this tour.
