FC Barcelona secured the La Liga title with the win over RCD Espanyol last night, and with the league title won, the Catalans do not have any other trophies remaining to fight for this season.
As a result, the Blaugrana club can now start focusing on its preparations for the next season, and the Sporting Department is already planning for the upcoming summer transfer window.
In this regard, one of the areas that Barcelona want to reinforce for the long-term is that of the goalkeeper. There is already stiff competition for this position, as Marc-André ter Stegen is now fit and Wojciech Szczesny is also available. Meanwhile, Inaki Pena is highly likely to leave the club this summer.
However, Ter Stegen is already quite aged, and Szczesny would also remain for only one more season at most. In such a context, Fichajes reports that Deco has already proposed a name to cover this position for the medium-term, i.e., the Mallorca shot-stopper Leo Roman.
The 24-year-old Mallorca goalie has emerged as one of the most promising goalkeepers in La Liga this season. His performance at the Santiago Bernabeu in his last league game has particularly impressed the Portuguese official, and the latter has already put forward his name for Hansi Flick to consider.

The German coach is also keen on such a deal, especially considering the way Deco plans to undertake this operation.
The goalkeeper has a buyout clause of €12 million, but as there is only one year remaining on his contract, an offer of around €7-8 million would be enough to secure his transfer. Thus, in addition to its sporting benefits, Roman’s signing can also turn out to be a good business opportunity for Barcelona.
To mitigate the problem of too many goalkeepers in the squad next season, Deco is looking to send Leo Roman on a year-long loan after signing him. When he returns from this loan, Szczesny will have completed his term, and Roman will be ready to take on an important role in the team.
