Defence Force claims first leg victory over Cibao FC in Caribbean Cup Third Place

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago —The 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continued with Defence Force FC earning a 3-nil win over Cibao FC in the First Leg of their Third Place series on Tuesday at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
Sheldon Bateau found the opener for the hosts in the 3’, finding the back of the net with a header to capitalize on a delivery from Joshua Araujo-Wilson.
Kevin Molino doubled the lead for Defence Force in the 41’ with a successful conversion from the penalty spot.
Kathon St. Hillaire rounded out the result for Defence Force in the 85’, with a right-footed finish to the bottom right corner. Molino provided the assist on the play with a precise through ball.
Goalkeeper Isaiah Williams had a standout display in goal for the winning side, with eight saves on his way to a clean sheet.
The Second Leg of the Third Place series will be played next Tuesday at Estadio Cibao FC in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
