Demba Ba says Le Havre move driven by potential, not sentiment

According to L'Équipe, new sporting director Demba Ba says he joined Le Havre for its considerable potential, not because he grew up there.

The former striker, 41, was appointed on 19 June and is tasked with rebuilding a squad in flux, mirroring a training centre that is also undergoing work.

Wearing casual gear and slides, he watched the first session of the season on 10 July, already juggling a heavy workload.

Speaking in the clubhouse refectory, Ba outlined his view of the role, which he first took on three years ago at Dunkerque as director of football in Ligue 2.

He frames the job around developing Le Havre’s potential rather than sentiment as he begins shaping the project.
