Ousmane Dembélé has won FIFA’s The Best award, beating compatriot Kylian Mbappé of Real Madrid and Spain’s Lamine Yamal of Barcelona after a landmark season with PSG.
According to SuperDepor.com, the vote involved coaches and captains of the 211 FIFA member associations, plus journalists and fans around the world.
The assessment covered 11 August 2024 to eight August 2025, a span in which Dembélé emerged as one of the game’s outstanding performers. He consistently influenced major moments.
During that period, he was central to PSG’s treble, lifting Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and the Champions League. He led Luis Enrique’s attack and was decisive in key European matches.
The Best has been awarded since 2016 following FIFA’s split with France Football. This latest honour places Dembélé back at the summit barely three months after he also collected the Ballon d’Or.
It further underlines a definitive resurgence after injury-disrupted years and cements his standing among the leading figures of the current era.
