French international Ousmane Dembélé, forward for Paris Saint-Germain, made headlines far from the pitch by donating €100,000 to the village of Wally Diantang, located in the Gorgol region in southern Mauritania, the birthplace of his mother's family.

The donation was delivered by his uncle, Sileye Dembélé, as revealed by Mauritanian journalist Lassana Camara. The gesture sparked a wave of emotion among the villagers, who see it as a genuine sign of the player's strong bond with his family roots and his commitment to supporting his community of origin.

Additionally, Ousmane Dembélé has received an official invitation from the president of the Mauritanian Football Federation, Ahmed Yahya, to visit Mauritania. The visit is expected to include initiatives aimed at developing local football, particularly in Nouakchott.

In a post on platform (X), Lassana Camara wrote:

"Solidarity | Ousmane Dembélé lets his heart speak! The French international has donated €100,000 to his ancestral village, Wally Diantang (Mauritania). The sum was handed over by his uncle Sileye Dembélé, according to local leaders. The Ballon d’Or #FranceFootball winner has also promised a visit to Mauritania, at the invitation of FFRIM president Ahmed Yahya, with major projects announced in Nouakchott."

It’s worth noting that Dembélé is of Malian descent on his father’s side and Mauritanian-Senegalese on his mother’s side, Fatimata Dembélé, who once declared that the Ballon d’Or "is not just her son’s, but all of Africa’s," highlighting the symbolic significance of this achievement.
