AS Monaco captain Denis Zakaria, 29, withdrew from Switzerland’s squad with injury, but the problem does not appear severe and he could feature in a club friendly during the international break.

L’Équipe reports it is an adductor problem and that he could face Serie B side Pisa in a friendly on 3 October.

Zakaria was forced off during Monaco’s win against RC Lens on Friday, leaving in the 76th minute and making way for academy product Pape Cabral.

He downplayed the issue afterwards, confirming he was substituted for a physical reason, before missing national-team duty.

In any case, the Monaco captain is set to be fit to face Toulouse FC on 10 October.

The Pisa friendly will also be a chance for Folarin Balogun, Ansu Fati, Takumi Minamino and Mohamed Salisu to build minutes.
