After Nick Woltemade and Josha Vagnoman sat out of Stuttgart’s 1-0 win against Augsburg in the DFB Pokal quarter-final with an illness before returning to the bench for their Bundesliga win against Borussia Dortmund, Deniz Undav has now gone on sick leave.

But, according to kicker, there is hope that Undav will be fit for Saturday’s clash against Wolfsburg. Jacob Bruun Larsen is also ill and is yet to return to training and so there are questions marks as to whether or not the Dane will be involved against Wolfsburg, and the same goes for Nicolas Nartey who has also been struck down with illness.

As for Ameen Al-Dakhil, the defender suffered a thigh strain during VfB’s defeat against Borussia Mönchengladbach. “We have our eye on Wolfsburg,” said Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeneß. “But he would have to take part in two or three training sessions for that.” – but, per kicker, Al-Dakhil has managed just one individual training session.
