Some strikers' names lend themselves to headlines and Notts County's Matt Dennis is making plenty of them after starting the season in red-hot form for the Magpies.
Currently the top scorer across the Championship, League One and League Two this season, the former Arsenal academy player has scored in his last five games and his latest strike secured all three points for Notts against Fleetwood last weekend.
A flowing break down the Magpies' right flank saw Alassana Jatta square the ball to Dennis in the box on Saturday, and the forward did the rest with an astute touch and assured finish to earn his side a 1-0 win over The Fishermen.
The former MK Dons, Rochdale and Carlisle forward has made an impressive start to life at Meadow Lane and, with six to his name now in League Two, he is one goal clear of fellow EFL hotshots Josh Sargent (Norwich), Jamie Reid (Stevenage) and Omari Patrick (Tranmere), all of whom have scored five apiece this term.
A quick look at Dennis' goals this season show that ALL have them have been snaffled from inside the penalty box, with five of the six scored from open play situations. Interestingly, three of Dennis' strikes have been right-footed, one left-footed and two have arrived courtesy of headers to underline his ability in the air.
What makes Dennis' return even more remarkable is that he currently ranks outside League Two's top 15 players when it comes to the number of shots he has taken. The 23-year-old has taken on only 14 shots in total this season, but the fact 10 of those have hit the target suggests Notts have a tidy finisher on their hands.
The Magpies and their in-form marksman travel to League Two leaders Gillingham next weekend for what promises to be a Battle Royale, both sides having scored in all of their league fixtures to date during the 2025/26 campaign. Goals look likely to be on the menu at Priestfield Stadium!
