Désiré Doué inspires PSG to victory against Monaco | OneFootball

Désiré Doué put in a superb performance to inspire his Paris Saint-Germain side to come from 2-0 down in Monaco to win 3-2.

The home side took the lead inside the first minute when Aleksandr Golovin whipped in a ball from the left that Folarin Balogun was on hand to head in from close range.

All of a sudden the reigning champions were 2-0 down with Balogun again finding the net this time after being slipped through the middle by Maghnes Akliouche and then keeping his cool to finish past Matvey Safonov.

In a pulsating opening, PSG missed a golden chance to pull one back. Wout Faes was caught in possession by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and then brought the Georgian down in the area. Vitinha struck the resulting penalty low to the left but Philipp Kohn did brilliantly well to get down and keep it out.

Luis Enrique reacted by bringing Désiré Doué on for Ousmane Dembélé in the 27th minute in what turned out to be an inspired move.

Doué reduced the deficit just two minutes after coming on with a fantastic effort after a cute pass from Bradley Barcola.

The scores were level just before the break. Doué was again involved as he cut inside and fired an effort that was pushed away by Kohn only for Achraf Hakimi to finish on the rebound.

Things got worse for Monaco just after the break when Golovin received a straight red card for a high challenge on Vitinha with the only surprise being that the referee needed VAR to stop it.

The comeback was complete in the 67th minute following a lovely passing move that the Monaco defence had no answer to. Warren Zaïre-Emery eventually teed the ball up for Doué to make it 3-2 and cap a superb performance.

The Parisians weren't expected to be in the play-offs and after a 3-2 win in Monaco it would be a real shock not to see them in the next round now.
