Luka Vuskovic is one of the biggest discoveries of the current Bundesliga season. The 19-year-old central defender has quickly developed into a top performer at Hamburger SV and is now on the radar of numerous top European clubs – including FC Bayern
Even though the link with the German record champions has cooled somewhat of late, the Munich club is still keeping a close eye on the Croatian defensive talent’s development
At just 19 years of age, Vuskovic has developed into a regular player and defensive leader at HSV, and his strong performances in the Bundesliga have not gone unnoticed internationally
As the pay-TV channel Sky reports, FC Barcelona have also recently become involved in the transfer poker, with initial talks between the Catalans and the player’s side said to have already taken place
FC Bayern have also been repeatedly linked with the central defender in recent months
However, a transfer is likely to be anything but cheap. According to Transfermarkt, Vuskovic’s current market value is estimated at around 40 million euros. However, the defender would hardly be available for this sum
The attitude of his actual employer Tottenham Hotspur is particularly interesting, as the Spurs have signed the Croatian international to a long-term contract until 2030
Despite this long-term contract and his great sporting potential, the Londoners are said to be prepared to consider selling him, according to Sky – but only if a suitable offer is made
Figures of between 70 and 80 million euros are already circulating in England, which Tottenham could demand for the talented defender

At FC Bayern, the trail to Vuskovic has become a little colder recently, mainly due to the fact that Munich are currently comparatively well positioned in the center of defense due to the contract extension of Dayot Upamecano
Nevertheless, according to the portal Croatian Index, Vuskovic remains an issue at Säbener Straße, with Bayern continuing to keep a close eye on the young defender and could make a move if Minjae Kim leaves in the summer
While numerous top clubs are monitoring the situation, Hamburg are still hoping that the defensive boss will stay – at least on loan
HSV would like to keep Vuskovic in the Hanseatic city for another season, and his older brother Mario Vuskovic could also play a special role in this
Although the HSV professional is also under contract with the Hanseatic club, he is still serving a doping ban until 15 November. In the future, both brothers could play together for HSV
Another season on loan in Hamburg would not be a bad scenario for FC Bayern either, as the Munich club could follow the central defender’s development at close quarters – and at the same time have more time to concretize their long-term squad planning in defence.
