Yesterday, Manchester City celebrated their success across all levels for the 2025-26 season with a parade through Manchester and a superb after-party at Co-op Live. Yesterday’s events also marked Pep Guardiola’s farewell to the club, as well as Bernardo Silva’s and John Stones’s. City is now entering a new era. As Erling Haaland explained during yesterday’s festivities, there may be change at Manchester City, but the goal remains the same.
In quotes on mancity.com, Erling Haaland spoke about Manchester City’s parade. He said he was happy for City fans to have the chance to celebrate the club’s achievements and farewell club icons. Ominously for Manchester City’s rivals, Haaland said that there is more to come from City despite Pep Guardiola stepping down as manager and club legends John Stones and Bernardo Silva departing. Haaland explained: “It’s amazing – the weather’s on our side as well. I’m just happy for the Manchester City fans.”
“I got the feeling we could’ve done more this season but there’s more to come. I’m enjoying the parade now but I think there’ll be an even better one in the future.”
Haaland also revealed that he is proud to have played with John Stones and Bernardo Silva. The Premier League’s Golden Boot winner for the 2025-26 season said the longevity of their City careers and the amount of trophies they won speak for themselves. He added: “Bernardo and John have been here for nine or ten years and won six Premier Leagues each which speaks for itself. Two legends of the club who are amazing on and off the pitch. They’ve been amazing for City and I am so proud to have played with them.”
There will be a completely different look to Manchester City next season. Bernardo Silva and John Stones will no longer be part of Manchester City’s squad. Pep Guardiola will not be there to drive standards, and his presence and genius as a manager will be sorely missed. However, despite the significant amount of change occurring at City, standards will remain at the club.
Erling Haaland knows that City must be competing for honors next season. That is the minimum standard at a club that has dominated the landscape for the past decade. Haaland is also confident in Manchester City’s future, and there is no reason for him not to be. The City squad is in good shape, and if Hugo Viana can get the summer transfer window right, anything is possible for City next season.
Erling Haaland believes there is more to come from Manchester City next season. Despite significant changes underway at the club, the goal remains the same. Haaland said as much yesterday, and the club itself is set up to carry on Pep Guardiola’s legacy even though Guardiola is no longer manager.
